RedBull Music Studio
Tasked to create a world class recording studio in an unused 1920s power station, the design merged the polygonal shapes required for acoustics into a sculptural, inhabitable landscape. Recording facilities on the interior, social spaces on the exterior with the two visually connected through a series of triangular skylights. More than 1 kilometer of copper bands were used to clad and unify the volumes, referencing the venue’s former use and speaking to Red Bull’s larger brand image around transmitting energy.
